Wendy’s artistic journey seamlessly weaves together her passion for colour and texture, nurtured through her experiences as a cook, event florist, and interior design student. Over the past five years, she has dedicated herself to drawing and painting, taking strong inspiration from the mid-century modern aesthetic. Her upcoming solo exhibition, Sun Lounging, at Palette in North Fremantle, serves as a vibrant homage to the iconic poolside retreats of modernism. Viewers will find themselves transported to a nostalgic era, where floral lounge chairs sit by shimmering pools, cocktails in hand, evoking a sense of abandon. This body of work has been her primary focus over the past year and has already gained recognition, with three of her pieces being selected for various art awards, including the prestigious National Emerging Art Prize in Sydney, as well as the Melville and Bayswater Art Awards.
