Sydney-based Phoebe Stone uses oil pastels to capture the beauty of still life and ‘tablescapes’. Her sense for the domestic was first honed in a professional career as an interior designer.
“Waiting for signs of summer felt like an eternity this year. Yet, slowly but surely, the purple jacaranda sprouted and soon produced a brilliant carpet across the lawn. Defiantly bright nasturtium petals began to dot the overgrown with green garden beds and oysters were bought and enjoyed in the sun. Each of these works is an ode to these treasured harbingers.
