Melanie Waugh

Melanie’s paintings capture familiar scenes from the artist’s life. Continuing on the grand narrative of Australian landscape painting, she uses broad brushstrokes and rich colours to reflect the dynamic diversity of Australia by presenting an energetic picture of this vast land.

Based in Bellingen on the NSW North Coast, Melanie has a Bachelor Of Fine Arts from the National Art School and a Master Of Arts from UNSW. She was awarded 2nd place in the Art In The Open Landscape Painting Prize (2018),has been a semi-finalist in the Doug Moran Portraiture Prize (2017),a finalist in the Hawkesbury Art Prize (2019) and in 2020 was a finalist in the King’s School Art Prize.
