Lynne Flemons

Lynne Flemons is an artist whose approach to painting is embedded in en plein air tradition, celebrating the colours, shapes and textures of the Australian bush and distilling the distinctive visual language of the landscapes she visits.

The artist has maintained her practice over many years and exhibited consistently. Her works have been shown internationally and across Australia, including in recent solo exhibitions at Zinc Contemporary in Seattle, Goulburn Regional Art Gallery and M16 Artspace in Canberra.

Taking inspiration from her childhood, Flemons is interested in rural farming landscapes and their interplay with the natural environments that envelop them. Working in watercolours and pencils, she draws directly from her surroundings and channels this inspiration in her studio. Her process has evolved over the years, with her current practice beautifully awash with thin, fluid, painterly layers that suggest the fragility and vulnerability of the landscape and our delicate, reciprocal relationship to it.
