Jen Rosnell

Based in Collaroy on Sydneys Northern Beaches. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UNSW, specialising in the figure and anatomy. With a background in graphic design she has always maintained her love of life drawing. Jennifer is a three time finalist in the Portia Geach Memorial Award and a finalist in the Hornsby Art Prize. She was selected as a finalist in the first ever National Emerging Art Prize, Amber Creswell Selects. Her painting of Ken Done was a winner of the Peoples Choice award for the Mosman Art prize in 2022. Jennifer recently featured in Home Beautiful magazine as an Australian contemporary artist to buy from. 

Her love of stripes combined with foreshortened beach figures are the focus for Jennifer Rosnell in this series. Exploring the striped towel to accentuate the dynamic perspective of the figure, each sunbather is captured in a quiet moment reading on the beach. Jennifer likes to leave little kisses of her bright colour base colour to dance alongside the oil paint. She is on an endless journey exploring painting and drawing beach scenes inspired from living on the coast.
