Nicole Steenhof

Nicole Steenhof is a visual artist currently working with painting and sculpture based in Shoalwater, WA. Propelled by an interest in ocean studies, Steenhof works towards an embodied painting process, alert to sensations beyond sight. In her latest collection, she is developing ideas on how we engage with the agential life of the sea with tenderness, to relearn connection. Completing post-graduate studies in Fine Arts last year, Steenhof has since had multiple works acquired by public collections including John Curtin Gallery, and was the recipient of the Emerging Artist Royal Prize for Landscape award in 2024.
