Jasmine Raisbeck

Jasmine Raisbeck (b. 1986) is an emerging Australian figurative painter based in Boorloo (Perth), Western Australia. A self-taught artist with a background in journalism and television production, Jasmine draws on her former career to inform and enrich her current art practice. She began her journalism career as a cadet in the gold-mining town of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, before moving on to work at various television networks, including The Project on Channel 10 in Melbourne. Years spent interviewing people from all walks of life and telling their stories equipped her with a unique narrative sensibility – one that now underpins her visual storytelling.

In her art, Jasmine seeks to articulate the human experience, finding quiet beauty in ordinary moments shared with family. Her painterly scenes – drawn from both old and new photographic references – convey layered, intimate stories. This empathetic perspective is deeply shaped by her background in journalism and her lived experience. Working primarily in acrylic paint, Jasmine’s practice is rooted in her experiences as a woman and mother, and in the lives of those around her, including her children. Her work is both personal and universal, offering a tender and honest reflection of everyday life.

Jasmine has been a finalist in a number of art prizes including the Naked and Nude Art Prize and the National Emerging Art Prize.
